OHDSI SHOUTOUTS
Congrats to Jenna Reps, Patrick Ryan, Peter Rijnbeek and Martijn Schuemie for this study recently published in the Journal of Big Data: Design matters in patient‑level prediction: evaluation of a cohort vs. case‑control design when developing predictive models in observational healthcare datasets.
Congrats to Jill Hardin and Jenna Reps on this study published in BMC Medical Research Methodology: Evaluating the impact of covariate lookback times on performance of patient-level prediction models.
OHDSI UPDATES
Paul Nagy will be providing an Informatics Grand Rounds virtual session on “The Road to Reproducible Research on Medical Records: Welcome to the Johns Hopkins OHDSI Community.” You can join virtually on Sept. 9 at 12 pm EST to hear Dr. Paul Nagy discuss how Johns Hopkins transformed EMR data into the OMOP common data model and created a community of clinicians and researchers leveraging OHDSI on our Precision Medicine Analytics Platform. Dani Prieto-Alhambra shared two Senior Statistician/Senior Data Scientist at Oxford positions that recently opened in his team at Oxford. More information is available here; the application deadline is 12 pm local time on Sept. 20.
The next edition of the CBER BEST Initiative Seminar Series will be Wednesday, September 8, at 11 am. Robert Platt (McGill University) will present a talk on “COVID-19 pharmacoepidemiology in Canada.” The seminar series is open to everybody.
