The amazing @mvanzandt Mui Van Zandt is leading the organization committee on a Face to Face architecture & technical meeting that she has agreed to host. We are working on dates, location, (agenda has been finalized based on rolling feedback from Hadoop WG members). Mui will update y’all but I promised I would put something in the forum.

Goals:
The primary goal of this event is to bring together community members who is currently using or want to use Hadoop. Let’s share our experiences and approaches regarding Hadoop, Spark and/or SOLR during OMOP conversions/analytics. Using this opportunity, we want to accomplish the following:
• Create a draft version of 10 – 15 conversion standards using Hadoop
• Create a list of issues regarding Atlas on Hadoop and start fixing them
• Create an ETL conversion code in Hadoop using Synpuf data
The secondary goal is to provide folks who’s less experienced to Hadoop introduction classes and access to staff from organizations who are expert at big data coding (e.g. Cloudera, Odysseus, QuintilesIMS) at no cost in an effort to provide technical assistance or expertise.
Working sessions:
- Writing ETL code to convert Synpuf data into OMOP using Hadoop
- Come up with a draft version of OMOP standards using Hadoop during ETL Conversions - from project initiation, architecture set up, ETL code, automation, to data export
- Identify issues with OHDSI tools in Hadoop and fix them
Cloudera Profession Support
- Introduction to Hadoop, Spark and SOLR
- Bring your Hadoop issues and the professional from Cloudera and the OMOP community will help you solve it
