Anyone have any idea why 4035611 ’ Seropositive rheumatoid arthritis’ and 4083556 ‘Seronegative rheumatoid arthritis’ don’t have an ancestral relationship to 80809 ‘Rheumatoid arthritis’?
This one is completely on SNOMED. Seronegative RhA and Seropositive RhA have different attributes, so they were not classified as descendants of RhA.
We don’t make changes to SNOMED hierarchy in our implementation. SNOMED is updated quite frequently so it’s not possible to keep manual changes up to date.
However, judging from changes on SNOMED’s internal platform, the problem will be fixed next release.
Thanks @Eduard_Korchmar, very useful to know.
Just to capture it for posterity sake, another one in SNOMED that I encountered yesterday was that in the same vein:
30437-
Gastro-esophageal reflux disease with esophagitis, has a parent of 30753 - ‘Esophagitis’, but not 318800 - ‘Gastroesophageal reflux disease’. So, in case anyone in the community were to do any studies of GERD (@Christian_Reich @Rijnbeek ) , they’d want to make sure not to miss this concept, and not rely only on GERD + descendants.
