I was wondering what is the best way to define study period in atlas. Should it be under restrict initial events, or in inclusion criteria ( both under demographics-add start data, end date )? or neither of them are the correct ? my cohort is kids (5-15 yo) with asthma dx , and the study period is 2015-2025.
The way you apply a study period in Atlas depends on how you define the study period. Please describe when a person should and when they should not be included in your cohort. Two examples:
Only include persons with an asthma diagnosis at 5-15yo between 2015 and 2025, or
Include any persons with asthma diagnosed (also before 2015) that are 5-15 yo somewhere between 2015 and 2025. In this case you should also think about what you want your entry event and date should be (diagnosis date, moment they turn 5, or start of observation period).
Small warning for the age criterium; Atlas only uses year of birth to calculate age. i.e. for the first option, it will select all children that will turn 5 in the calendar year of their asthma diagnosis.
