The new study below is planned to post to the OHDSI Research Network.
The global epidemiology of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest
Objective: The objective of this study is to characterize the temporal trend of incidence, advanced procedures, and short-term and long-term outcome of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) across the world through OHDSI research network.
Rationale: Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is one of the treatable major cause of unexpected death worldwide. The survival rate of OHCA can be serve as a representative indicator for the quality of public health system and emergency care system. Characterization of the differences in the trends of prevalence, outcome and the frequency of advanced post-resuscitation medical care, such as therapeutic hypothermia, will help us to understand the nature of OHCA and global disparities in the treatment of OHCA.
Project Leads: Soo Yeon Cho, Seng Chan You, and Rae Woong Park from Ajou university
The poster describing OHCA in Ajou university will be shown in OHDSI symposium 2016.
