We are working on implementing the OMOP CDM In our institution.
Among our studies is prediction of usage time of the operating rooms. For this study we need to have all the prior information regarding the procedures including the clinical orders.
Our predicament is which clinical data tables in the OMOP would be suitable for clinical orders (CPOE).
Our thinking:
Perhaps the observation table. However, prior to hospitalization or outpatient visit, visit occurrence and visit detail fields would be NULL
For an emergency, urgent or elective order?
For expected date of procedure, perhaps value_as_datetime would be the correct field?
Estimated amount of time the room will be occupied?
We are open to suggestions and guidance from the learned forum members.
