Clinical Description: Nephrectomy is a surgical procedure in which a kidney is removed, either partially (partial nephrectomy) or completely (total nephrectomy). It is performed to treat various kidney conditions, such as kidney cancer, severe kidney infections, or irreparable kidney damage, with the aim of managing the disease or eliminating the affected kidney. The logic in this definition aims to select for a cohort undergoing non emergent procedures. Further details to aid in the population level evaluation of this cohort will be posted to this thread.
