Welcome to the OHDSI Forum!! This is a friendly environment where people help each other.
With respect to the Japanese vocabularies: Please bring them to our attention, and we will add them. That way, you don’t have to do anything special: You can preserve the original Japanese notation but also store the mapped standard version which will allow global studies.
Yes, I’ll send you the lists after finishing my preparations.
I have to check the license of vocabularies because I believe the list will be re-distributed in Athena.
We don’t have to worry about the licenses right now. If there are proprietary licenses we will establish that in Athena and people need to obtain the license before downloading. But in the mean time we could start assessing what you have.
As for the SNOMED-CT part, the situation has changed now, and it is now possible for OMOP to use SNOMED-CT free of charge for research purposes all over the world, including Japan. (OMOP users still need to sign a license agreement for business operations use of SNOMED-CT, but there is an agreement type for each facility, not for each country, and the fees seem to be at a level that is not burdensome if you consider it for business operations use).
We are almost there. And when we are, you won’t need a signature, either. Just a click through when you download, just like now. Also, there are no fees attached.
All of that of course only if you use SNOMED-CT in your OMOP CDM and analyses based on it. If you are going outside OHDSI the special SNOMED license will not apply.
