OMOP, Corewell Health, and a Request

Over the course of the last 7 years, Corewell Health (formerly Spectrum Health) has posted 5 versions of our Clarity to OMOP code base. You can find them here:

We would very much like to know how far this has penetrated into the community.

So, we have a request.

If your organization has downloaded and used (to whatever extent) our code, we would really appreciate it if you could let us know. And if you could also indicate the version and how you used it, that would be even better.

I’d also like to know the interest in a Caboodle version as well.

You can contact me here through OHDSI, or directly to Roger.Carlson@corewellhealth.org.

Thank you!

Hi @roger.carlson.

First of all, the OMOP community owes you a debt of gratitude for publishing this code base, and for your persistence in improving and continuing to publish it It’s a wonderful resource. Thank you!

Dana-Farber created our pilot OMOP in 2023. We hired a consultant and they chose to use their own code base, but I used your queries quite a bit to understand our Clarity source data. That was either the Spectrum Code Reboot or TNG version.

I have pointed many people to your codebase over the past several years. Whenever I encounter an Epic user starting their OMOP journey I send them the link to your code.

Hi @roger.carlson,

The code you shared has been incredibly useful in the OMOP CDM conversion from Clarity I’ve been implementing at Freud Hutch Cancer Center, not to mention all the other insights you’ve shared through the “Getting Started” Monday work group sessions. Since my work on this just began in May 2025 I’ve mostly used the “The Final Frontier” version since you shared that around the same time I got started. I don’t think we have any immediate need for a Caboodle version for now.

Thank you for all your support!
