Our team has come up with the question if a target_concept_id is not available, has anyone then used the source_concept_id to map?
Below is a snapshot of codes from diagnosis fields that map to source_concept_id (under source_domain_id ‘Observation’, ‘Measurement’, ‘Condition’), but don’t map to target_concept_id .
So we have seen the same thing on our side and Erica posted about it a few months ago: Unspecified Codes and the OMOP Vocabulary
One of the other things we found is that some of these codes had standard mappings in previous versions of the vocabulary but those standard codes were deprecated and the mappings were not updated so now they end up getting mapped to zero.
@Christian_Reich Any thoughts on this?
