JOB DESCRIPTION
As a software developer you will develop and maintain software components within the European Health Data and Evidence Network (EHDEN) project. The EHDEN project aspires to be the trusted observational research ecosystem to enable better health decisions, outcomes and care. Its mission is to provide a new paradigm for the discovery and analysis of health data in Europe, by building a large-scale, federated network of data sources standardised to a common data model. This work is done in close collaboration with the Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI) initiative.
You will be responsible for developing, documenting and maintaining analytical software components that enable the execution of characterization, population-level effect estimation, and patient-level prediction analyses across Europe. See here for an example. You will be part of an international development team in EHDEN and OHDSI, and will regularly communicate and meet with the other team members. You will report to the local team in Erasmus MC.
REQUIREMENTS
- You have a higher educational background and ample experience as a software developer.
- Advanced knowledge of R is needed as well as expertise in SQL, and webservices (JavaScript etc).
- Expertise in software development techniques, continuous integration, and version control is required.
- You are able to work independently and have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
You will receive a temporary position of two years (full-time). The gross monthly salary amounts a minimum of € 3.712,- (scale 8) and a maximum of € 4.615,- (scale 10), depending on your level of education and relevant experience and based on a full-time working week of 36 hours. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
