Exploring Potential Barriers to Data Quality Assessment

We are conducting a study to examine data quality assessment and individual- and organizational-level barriers to assessing and reporting data quality assessment. We aim to administer a survey about this topic to individuals who work with data, either as a data consumer or data producer.

We are hoping you will agree to participate.

  • This survey will take roughly 10-15 minutes to complete and is completely voluntary, thus you are free to stop at any time.
  • If at any time you do not feel comfortable answering a question, please select the “I do not feel comfortable answering this question” option and you will be automatically skipped to the next question.
  • This survey is anonymous and all survey responses will be kept completely confidential. Further, all survey responses will be stored on password-locked computers only accessible to research staff.

The goal of this study is to gain information regarding current data quality assessment practices as well as examine potential barriers to improving or expanding current data quality assessment activities/investments. We encourage you to take part in this study and share your valuable insights and perspectives. This study is approved by the Colorado Multiple Institution Review Board (COMIRB # 14-1812).

Hi Tiffany,
I tried to follow the link but got a blank page. Do I need to use a particular browser? I’m using IE 9 and it gave me a message that it could not display the webpage. Any thoughts on alternative ways for me to access the survey?
Thanks,
Andrew

It could be, Andrew, but it works for me in Chrome.

Hi Andrew-

Thank you for your email and your willingness to complete the survey. I just tested the link (http://j.mp/1trdHtb) and it worked when opened in Firefox and Google Chrome. Would you be willing to try using one of those browsers?

I also contacted our RedCap Administrator who told me that she uses IE 10 and has not had a problem nor heard of any reason that this browser should not work. She also said that aside from me, someone else contacted her about this same issue earlier today. She indicated that she was going to continue to work on this issue and would update me later today.

I would offer to send you a blank word version of the survey to complete, but then your answers would no longer be anonymous. Perhaps holding off on completing the survey until I hear from our RedCap Admin? I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you very much-

Tiffany

No problem at all Tiffany. I’ll just use a different browser when I get on another PC. I’m only locked into IE 9 on this one.

Hi Andrew-

Thank you very much. Again, I am sorry about the hassle. Please let me know if anything else comes up or if there is anything else that I can provide you with to facilitate completing the survey.
