We’re interested in calculating dose from the DRUG_EXPOSURE table across multiple OMOP sites. A challenge we have encountered is that sites may map drugs to different levels of granularity (e.g. ingredient vs. quantified drug), which may affect whether dose can be derived consistently across sites. Additionally, different sites could populate their quantity differently, either through using dosage given vs. quantity in ml, tablets, etc.
What is the recommended approach or best practice for determining whether a site has sufficient information to reliably calculate dose? Are there existing OHDSI tools or queries that can help assess dose availability across sites?
