Deprecated SNOMED concepts

Hello,

I have been mapping a Waterlow score assessment to SNOMED concepts in OMOP. An example of such a concept is as follows:

44789689 Waterlow skin type visual risk areas score Observation SNOMED Clinical Finding S 206081000000102 2014-04-01 2099-12-31

As the value for “invalid_reason” is the default date, that indicates that this concept is deprecated. However the concept is still active in the UK edition of SNOMED-CT, as I was able to find it in the contents of the UK edition.

As my source data contains this and other related Waterlow scores, how do I map to the right vocabulary concepts when they are absent from the OMOP vocabularies?

The valid_end_date is 31st of December 2099. This is the standard date that stands for “undefined future”. Which means, the Concept is valid, which is also indicated by the field invalid_reason = null. So, all is good. You can use the Concept.
