NIH has earmarked ~$60 million over 6 years for a new Common Fund initiative on Data Science in Africa. From Aug 10-19, there will be a series of online presentations and panel discussions relevant to this Initiative. You can register to attend https://commonfund.nih.gov/AfricaData. I believe that one of the grants will be given to an organization to serve as a coordinating center, with preference given to an organization located in Africa. This may be an opportunity to start bringing more African data into the OHDSI data science community.
