COVID-19, omicron, breakthrough infections

This paper from Jan 13 has very interesting design.

They used VA data in US. It does not cover omicron.

Studying breakthrough infections would be interesting to read about (by patients).

I reviewed this list: https://github.com/ohdsi-studies?q=covid&type=all&language=&sort=

Is this study https://github.com/ohdsi-studies/Covid19VaccineEffectiveness progressing ?

Hi, @Vojtech_Huser. On CRIUS, we did a pilot study on Columbia data to see if we could get valid results: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.12.22.21268253v1 . We found some sources of bias that that we think can be addressed (anchoring, week-one effects, COVID-19 diagnosis measurement error), and we matched the RCT results for fully vaccinated patients.

We haven’t gotten much response, though, except for the Oxford group. So we are assessing whether to proceed.
