August 2026 vocabulary release is available in Athena!

Dear community,

Iā€™m coming up with amazing news: August release is already available in Athena :tada:

Key highlights:

  • We updated 14 vocabularies to their latest versions (thanks to my amazing team @MSalavei, @Maria_Rogozhkina and Aliaksei Katyshou)
  • Complex contribution by the Onco WG: update of Cancer Modifier, OMOP Genomic and NAACCR accompanied with remodeling of cancer-related content in SNOMED and LOINC (applause to @Christian_Reich, @agolozar and @Vlad_Korsik!).
  • Rare disease vocabularies enhanced: new Mondo and ORPHAcode vocabularies introduced. This contribution is a result of the productive collaboration of Rare Diseases WG, Monarch team, Orphanet team and @Alexdavv
  • SNOMED Veterinary was updated as a complex contribution by @wayde
  • We closed over 30 GitHub issues! A bunch of simple community contributions were implemented (many thanks to @Patrick_Ryan, @aostropolets, @MoWagenaar, @loreV-edenceHealth)
  • New CDM 5.5 tables concept_metadata, concept_relationship_metadata and pack content are now included in the Athena download bundle (kudos to @Konstantin_Yaroshove and his team)
