ITEM | Could we implement a canonical set of CONCEPT_IDs … for highly used vital signs (height, weigh, BMI, BP, heart rate, respiratory rate, SPO2, temperature, etc.)?

Our group receives data from several collaborators, all of whom have done their own, independent OMOP conversion of their EHR records. Our goal is to map all this data into our own internal database. We run into problems because different institutions use different concept ids for the same measurements.
For example:
BMI can be represented as 4245997 or 3038553
Body weight can be represented as 3025315 or 3013762
Diastolic BP can be represented by 3012888 or 4154790
PSA can be represented by…
I am responsible for writing the 2020 CTSA Common Metrics queries for OMOP/BigQuery along with @rtmill and @apeshansky for other DBMSs. One metric is the number of encounters with at least one vital sign, which I am interpreting as any form of BP, HR, RR, and/or Temperature measurement. My ask: Is there an already established concept set for these common measures and if not, any advice for how to get a “good enough” set.
I did not find any relevant concept sets defined in atlas.ohdsi.org . or a…
First I think we need to defined what we mean by vital signs. Typically they include Blood pressure, respiratory rate, pulse, and body temperature(1). Additional measurements also considered vital signs are blood oxygen saturation, body weight, and body height. In terms of a canonical set of concepts to represent these values, I would suggest we look at LOINC panels. There are a couple related to vital signs we can choose from depending on how we want to scope it.
I think these are the three best options:
Vital signs, weight, height, head circumference and oximetry panel HITSP
Vital signs, weight, height, head circumference, oxygen saturation and BMI panel
– My personal favorite
Vital signs, weight, height, head circumference, oximetry, BMI, and BSA panel - HL7.CCDAr1.1
