- Registration link: Please check OHDSI website
Goal:
-
Review ongoing projects at NLP WG:
- Work through the next steps in submitting the Note_NLP proposal to the CDM WG
- Discuss progress on ETL tools such as Note Type normalization
- Assess the progress and develop plans to expedite the ongoing multi-site studies
-
Discuss OKR for next year
- Prioritize future projects
- NLP chapter in the OHDSI book
Background:
- To comply with the new CDM Request Process, we need to revise our Note_NLP proposal and add ETL conventions and present the revised proposal to the CDM WG. Once the Note_NLP proposal is approved a branch needs to be created in the Common Data Model repository based on the latest version of the OMOP CDM in use and it will be the responsibility of the NLP WG to maintain it.
- We started normalizing note types into LOINC codes. We will update the OHDSI community on the progress made so far.
- There are a few ongoing studies (e.g., PASC) and a call for participation in new studies (e.g., Delirium). We will discuss the progress and plans to streamline the process.
Opportunity:
- Once the Note_NLP proposal is approved we’d like your participation in 1) Updating the CSV file with the CDM specification, including the User Guide and ETL Conventions documentation, 2) Generating the DDL files with the change and testing the new DDL files in at least one supported environment
- We are developing protocols for extracting note type information from EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner and we invite your participation in co-developing and validating those protocols at your local EHR systems.
- We welcome all to join our multi-site NLP studies. We are happy to provide all support if anyone wants to propose new NLP-based clinical studies.
- We also invite attendees to join us to discuss a potential new chapter on NLP in the OHDSI book.
