Vocabulary refresh with SNOMED domain adjustments

In the latest vocabulary release, besides providing the recent SNOMED versions for the International (2020/07), the UK (2020/10) and the US (2020/09) sources, we were able to clear our backlog for a number of known domain assignment issues. Many concepts’ domains have now been reassigned closer to OMOP conventions. For example, 6275 observations that are mostly lab tests became measurements. There are also a number of new concepts introduced (including a number of historic SNOMED concepts as non-standard/invalid that have not been part of the OMOP vocabulary before).
Changes in the SNOMED vocabulary domain assignment also had effects to related concepts in other vocabularies, most importantly the set of ICD classifications.
We also changed the internal logic for retrieving concept names to better reflect concepts’ original meaning by using the SNOMED supplied Preferred Term.

While this has many positive effects, it should be noted that many clinically relevant concepts have switched their domain, potentially affecting existing custom mappings.

I would also like to let you know that with this release, we have concluded the addition of CoViD vaccines, as earlier announced.
