As a community we should probably either:

• Decide on one convention and document/encode it consistently everywhere
• Explicitly allow any casing and build in support for this to all of our tools

My vote would be for the first proposal by Katy. “Decide on one convention” and take 12-36 months to slowly implement it into our tools.

Tagging in @clairblacketer too as this is probably a good CDM WG discussion. I think I also prefer #1 because just making everything lowercase is much simpler and most of the needed updates would probably just be to documentation
