Is Adenoscan a device or a drug

Adenoscan contains adenosine, but used as a coronary vasodilator exclusively for diagnostic purposes in conjunction with radiopharmaceuticals for myocardial perfusion imaging. So should it be a drug or a device?

The only standard vocabulary items for Adenoscan are all in the “Drug” domain. Are you asking if these concepts should be reassigned to a different domain?

I would argue that they should stay where they are. DEVICE_EXPOSURE is for “a foreign physical object or instrument which is used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes through a mechanism beyond chemical action.” In this case, the drug is used for diagnostic purposes through a mechanism that is not beyond chemical action, unless I’m mistaken.

Currently, it is in the Drug Domain, but we had some concerns due to its exclusively diagnostic usage.

It would be nice to come up with a discussion among the community regarding such items (Adenoscan and others if any).

@aostropolets @Christian_Reich, thoughts?
