Concept Synonym table: Who uses it? How does it help you?

Curious if anyone with US English data uses the Concept Synonym table? I’ve read through some old forum postings brought up in the search for “synonym” and didn’t find any relevant information (i.e.translations to dutch, issues with the DDL, etc.). I don’t see it used in Usagi or Atlas. So, I’m wondering what I am missing? How do I use the table?

Thanks!
Melanie

It can be extremely helpful when a drug or an ingredient has multiple names like acetaminophen/paracetamol, so you don’t need to google it and can use concept_synonym instead.

The same is applied to other domains too.
for example, condition domain:
look, here you find Syplilis, while your input is “Lues” (“Lues” is an old name for Syphilis First Known Use: 1634:))
