Hello Everyone,

I came across the below terms when reading a paper

a) Operative mortality

b) peri-operative mortality

c) postoperative mortality

Can someone here help me understand these terms?

While I found the definition for b) here link, I don’t know what is c)

I believe both b) and c) come under a)

Operative: While the surgery is going on. Peri: Within 30 days after surgery. Post: Anytime after surgery, but the precise definition probably depends on the use case.
