Where does blood type go? Which table/vocabulary?
I don’t have an answer for you. Just some notes.
You want group or group and Rh factor combined?
Let’s start with one value and see if the value can guide us to tests that offer it.
the value of A- mentioned here LOINC 882-1 — ABO and Rh group [Type] in Blood
with snomed code 278152006 (as CID it would be http://athena.ohdsi.org/search-terms/terms/4080397 )
(it is a standard concept)
Same duplication of answers (as mentioned in my prior post
)
(LA21326-6 code for it is also a standard concept - CID would be http://athena.ohdsi.org/search-terms/terms/46237061)
That concept is linking via relationship “Answer of (LOINC)”
I am working on improvements of the DataQuality study (that looked at lab tests) to now also look into tests that don’t report a value but a coded value.
This is what I came up with (this is for a registry)
Value | SNOMED | OMOP Concept ID | Athena URL |
---|---|---|---|
Rh+ | 165747007 | 4013995 | http://athena.ohdsi.org/search-terms/terms/4013995 |
Rh- | 165746003 | 4013540 | http://athena.ohdsi.org/search-terms/terms/4013540 |
A | 112144000 | 4008253 | http://athena.ohdsi.org/search-terms/terms/4008253 |
B | 112149005 | 4009006 | http://athena.ohdsi.org/search-terms/terms/4009006 |
AB | 165743006 | 4013993 | http://athena.ohdsi.org/search-terms/terms/4013993 |
O | 58460004 | 4237761 | http://athena.ohdsi.org/search-terms/terms/4237761 |
I agree, it would be great to make non-standard the overlapping, duplicative concepts.
You are missing Blood group O-h, whilst rare, is an issue in some populations.
