STATE field in the LOCATION table

Hello,

Our source data contains 3 letter acronyms to indicate the STATE. However the field has been set to VARCHAR(2). So my question is can I change the length of the column OR am I expected to truncate the source values to fit into the existing length? How are non-US addresses handled in OMOP? The documentation is very sparse on details.

You can always enlarge. The provided types are minimum definitions.

How are non-US addresses handled in OMOP?

Because at the time of the composition we had no Aussies, and OMOP/OHDSI works strictly use case driven. Can you specify what you need?
