I think we may just be seeing differences on two fronts: pediatrics vs adults, and claims provenance vs EHR provenance. It certainly makes sense to me that if your data source is Truven or Optum or ResDAC, and you can’t rely on dosing info other than package used, and you can rely on a unit dose for most any patient, then effective_drug_dose is work you don’t need. This is potentially an easier case to address for us, since keeping it will be downwardly compatible with the canonical CDM spec.
