Convert icd-10 to snomed

Hi, I am new to this field. I am trying to achieve exactly what this thread is about – get snomed code from icd10 code. I am struggling a bit to figure out where the mapping can be downloaded from Athena. I have downloaded ICD10, ICD10CM and SNOMED vocabularies. Each of the downloads has a CONCEPT_RELATIONSHIP.csv file. Is this the file I should be looking at? For example, ICD10 vocabulary has a CONCEPT_RELATIONSHIP.csv file with concept_id_1 and concept_id_2, but they are both the same for all “Maps to” relationship_ids.
None of the concept_ids in relationship csv files exist in other files.
What am I missing?
Thanks!

When you download vocabularies, you should download all vocabularies the relationships between which you are interested in, together, not separately. If you download ICD10 vocabulary, but not leave SNOMED vocabulary unchecked, all relationships which are external from ICD10 to SNOMED do not get added to CONCEPT_RELATIONSHIP.

Thank you Eduard. That worked.

HI Melanie and others, How do you download the ICD10CM to SNOMED mappings created by the OHDSI team? Thank-you!

Hi Donna

Welcome to the community!
You need to go to Athena, register and follow the instructions under the ‘Download’ tab. Basically you need to click on vocabularies you need. Some of the vocabs are mandatory and can’t be unclicked. Don’t worry, just download the bundle. You will find concept and concept_relationships in your downloads. concept_relationships is for mappings, concept is for concept attributes, incl. names, codes and vocabularies.

Thank-you! We will try this.
Best,
Donna
