Is OMOP CDM 10 years old in 2017?

For a publication, I wanted to find out exactly when was first CDM version deployed. (and then v2 and v3 ( v4 and v5 i know well).

From this site

http://omop.org/sites/default/files/Humana%20OMOP%20Final_Study_Report_Humana.pdf

Can someone post (or link to) any historical OMOP CDM specs?
e.g., version 1, 2, and 3 (especially).

At the symposium, we should celebrate the 10 years (or in 2018?)

@Vojtech_Huser:

In 2019, the first OMOP CDM was released. I got a few old versions. Have fun dumpster diving.

OMOP CDM Version 1.2 (342.9 KB)

OMOP CDM Version 2.0 (2.5 MB)

OMOP CDM Version 3.0 (600.3 KB)

@Christian_Reich Wasn’t it 2009? :wink:

@abedtash_hamed:

Yeah. :slight_smile: Had we done it in 2019 and used the corporate OMOP time machine to release it in 2009 it would have been even better than it already is.

This was a fun thread to go back into the time machine:) Digging through
my stuff, I found a white paper we put together on ‘points to consider’ for
a CDM in 2009. OMOP was initially formed in 2008, but the majority of the
effort in the initial months was designing the series of methodological
experiments we conducted…so there was discussion of the need to bring
together a community of disparate databases and to test a centralized model
and distributed network approach, but the specific details of what the CDM
would look like to enable that research didn’t come out until 2009.

Definitely when OMOP CDM turns 10 years old, we’ll have to have a birthday
cake at the symposium:)

+1 for OHDSI birthday bash 2019 :cake: :cake: :cake:

Also love this topic… do people have any good timeline slides on the evolution of OMOP / OHDSI? Would be cool to have a pseudo-history on file of the evolution of large scale observational health data standardization and analytics.

@Patrick_Ryan,

Please share the white paper!
