I am the Data Standards & Interoperability Specialist at the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s CancerLinQ.

So just a bit of background about myself…

  • I am Co-Chair of HL7 International’s “Electronic Services & Tools” Workgroup

  • I am Liaison to HL7 Structured Documents Workgroup

  • I Have been working in the Healthcare industry since 1995. Designed and developed a complete, multi-tiered EHR, scheduling, and messaging system, incorporating several HL7 v2.x interfaces, CDA document generation and processing, with a focus toward standards integration using the HL7 RIM / Clinical Document Architecture and the goal of semantic interoperability.

  • I Have been professionally developing software since 1985 with experience and proficiency in several different languages including C#, XML, C/C++, SQL, Visual Basic, Assembler, RPG II, COBOL, Pascal, etc… - focusing on the .NET platform via C# since 2003.

  • I am longstanding member of HL7 International, with a focus on V3, CDA, and FHIR. Participates in Structured Documents and Electronic Services & Tools (ES&T) Work-groups as well as FHIR initiatives. Promotes, encourages, and evangelizes for HL7 standards adoption and use. Seeks to help drive healthcare standards development from the perspective of software creativity.

  • Database Architect/Developer since 1996, specializing in SQL query design, tuning, and analysis.

  • Taught software development classes focused on enterprise designs and multithreading techniques using C#, XML, and database Integration.
