Dental data

Has anyone explored mapping data from a dental EHR (in our case it is called axiUm) into the OMOP CDM? I know that there is a standardized dental diagnostic terminology and problem list through a group called the Consortium for Oral Health Research and Informatics (users of axiUm), which could be used as a starting point.
Thanks,
Mark

I am looking into dental data as example of postcoordination. To have all permutation of surfaces and teeth is a lot to pre-coordinate.

Example dental picture

Example SNOMED CT expression:

80967001 | dental caries | :
363698007 | finding site | = 245719000 | palatal cusp | ,
260746000 | tooth site | = 245568002 | permanent upper right 6 tooth |

48669003 | amalgam restoration, one surface, permanent | :
405813007 | procedure site - Direct | = 245719000 | palatal cusp | ,
260746000 | tooth site | = 245568002 | permanent upper right 6 tooth |

(credit goes to Michael Bond for those examples)

Similarly for a way to represent a finding of carries at the beginning of my Tuesday appointment – we should think about representing a dental procedure of placing a white filling (later during my Tue appointment).

That would not be a finding but a dental procedure.

Example of a procedure is:

@Vojtech_Huser: How many?

I am reviving this zombie thread. After a few months of lurking and learning, I’m very excited about using the OHDSI framework with our EHR, axiUm.

Are there others actively working on dental data?
