ACHILLES HEEL Notification on deciles

I have gotten this notification:

NOTIFICATION: [GeneralPopulationOnly] Not all deciles represented at first observation

Can someone explain what this is referring to? Is this looking for age deciles represented at first observation, and what does the [GeneralPopulationOnly] mean? I haven’t seen this before.

GeneralPopulationOnly means that the notification only applies if your dataset is from General Population.

In a new proposed extended metadata - we hope to capture the fact that the CDM data reflect general population (e.g., not just medicare 65+ people).
See the proposal here

At a typical healthcare site, one observes that all patients are being seen. (newborns, 20yo, 30yo, 40yo, etc. as well as seniors).

This notification tells the data user, that the data is unusual in some sense.

A large integrated delivery network (IDN) typically observes all deciles. If I open a 3 hospitals and 40 outpatient clinics new IDN on Jan 1, 2013 - I expect that in 2013 year of business - people of all ages would turn up.

Keep in mind that it is a notification (not an error)!
